On August 6 and 13, 2017, CTL took the Gospel message to the streets of West Englewood. Thanks to all who participated in this awesome outreach effort. We had the opportunity to share the Good news about Jesus with others, pass out bibles and even win souls to Christ. Hooray!!! We had a great time and we know that God is well pleased and all of heaven is rejoicing.
On Saturday July 8, 2017, CTL enjoyed its Boy’s Day Out. We went to Jake’s Warehouse in Dyer Indiana, where we ate pizza, drove go karts, played laser tag, climbed rugged walls, walked the challenging sky walk shot basketball, played lots of games and bonded and enjoyed each other’s company. All in all it was a great day!
On June 25th, Christ Tabernacle of Love celebrated our 2017 graduates! Our kindergartners through high schoolers, every graduate was presented with a certificate of honor and a bag of gifts. Also participants in our iHoop4Christ Basketball program were awarded MVP (Most Valuable Person), MIP (Most Improved Person) and All Star medals for off-court leadership, dedication and scholastic achievements during the corresponding school year.
It is our belief that what happens on the court starts long before a basketball is ever picked up. It begins with the shaping and strengthening of character. Our deepest desire and heartfelt goal is to instill in each of our youth godly character, a winning attitude, and solid leadership skills, with the intent to build up strong, courageous and bold warriors for the Kingdom of God. In sports, one will win some and lose some, but in life, Christ Tabernacle of Love Church’s youth will always be winners
On April 1, 2017, CTL hosted it’s Teen Girls Day Out. We jumped for joy at the Sky Zone Trampoline Park, and then headed over to the Golden Corral Buffet & Grill for an all you can eat dinner. It was such a delight. While breaking bread we had plenty of time to fellowship, create new relationships and to enhance existing one. Our teens also heard an awesome testimony from Min. Necia Stallworth the author of the book Throw Away.
Finally everyone in attendance was given a gift which included a pair of diamonds ear rings to reflect who they are to God. Diamonds cut from the Master Diamond, Jesus Christ. We had a great time and can’t wait for our next CTL’s Teen Girls Day event.
On Sunday, Feb. 19th, CTL took a bus load of members to Zion Faith Center, attending the 10:00 am Worship Service, and then conducted our baptismal service immediately following worship. We had the pleasure and honor of celebrating the baptism of 24 young people, which continued into the evening with pizza and a swim party!
On Sunday, December 18th, we had the pleasure of gathering for a Christmas celebration filled with food, fellowship and gifts. Thank you to all of those who served and made our time together such a blessing!
On Sunday, November 27, 2016, six teams engaged in our Second Annual Thanksgiving Basketball Tournament & Awards Ceremony.
On Saturday, October 29th, we had a wonderful time cheering on the Bulls as they faced off against the Pacers.
On August 21, 2016, just before the young ones return to school, CTL provided book bags, stocked with school supplies to CTL youth members. Approximately 50 students were blessed to receive some of the tools that will help equip them in their preparation for entering the new school year.
On August 19, 2016, CTL's pre-teen and teenage girls from ages 11 to 15 came together for our first annual Girls Night In slumber party. There was plenty of pizza, swimming in the pool, pampering each other with facials and nail painting, popcorn, chips and dips, candy, games, lots of Girl Talk and just plain fun. We stayed overnight at one of the luxurious Hilton Hotels in downtown Chicago where we bonded and created everlasting memories of Christian Sisterhood!
